SongwriterLink ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it.
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored hashed). When you pay for membership, Stripe processes your payment details, we receive only a payment confirmation and a billing reference. We do not store card details.
When you publish a lyric, we store the lyric text, title, genre, moods, and any writer's note you provide. We also record the date of publication.
When you submit or edit a lyric for publication, its text is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to check whether it appears to be AI-generated. We store the result of that check (a likelihood score and a short reason) with the lyric, so our team can review flagged lyrics. Anthropic does not use lyrics to train its models.
When you use the free lyric style analyser, the lyric you paste is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to be analysed, and is then discarded. We don't store it, and Anthropic does not use it to train its models. We keep only an anonymous usage record (the date, the style result and the word count) and a daily code derived from your IP address to apply the daily limit.
We do not sell your data. We do not run advertising. We do not share your information with third parties except as described above (Stripe for payments, Copyscape for originality checks, Anthropic for AI-writing checks and the lyric style analyser).
We use a session cookie to keep you logged in, and a CSRF cookie to protect forms. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
We retain your account and lyric data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we will anonymise or delete your personal data within 30 days on request. Published lyrics may be retained in anonymised form for archival purposes unless you request full deletion.
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data; to object to or restrict its processing; and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, contact us.
