Here is me,
I am becoming an expert
At
Love Done Clumsily
I tend to be ...
Smiling at the pitchfork of self-righteous faith
Zealots setting up to plant a seed of doubt
My heart is asking me, is it true you are not saved
Today God will test if their truth borders on conceit
That’s why I always ask if they will wash my feet
Yes, I know my wish to be kind is a mess
When I hear me,
Mocking for the wrong reason—
Sometimes, though I confess
My reply isn’t even close to
Love Done Clumsily
When I always ask them ...
Is hidden in your sackcloth and ashes
A mustard seed of faith for me
If so, let me put my spiritual feet up
As I sure could use your judgmental hope
I’ll know you’re sincere when you show me
You actually brought a bowl and soap
Now, now you,
Are you becoming an expert
At
Love Done Clumsily
Brothers and Sisters ...
I like to believe all can own untainted faith --but
Our stained feet always give us away
Reminders even to the most devout
All need to be steadfast in foot treading
The dark Terebinth seeds of doubt
So let me ask you again ...
Is hidden in your sackcloth and ashes
A mustard seed of faith for me
If so, let me put my spiritual feet up
As I sure could use your judgmental hope
I’ll know you’re sincere when you show me
You actually brought a bowl and soap
I hear your truth say
All sense your soul holds a dead mustard seed
We holier-than-thou agree your faith is not ours
Relief can be yours if you accept our beliefs
There will be no washing of feet today
There will be no washing of feet today
And I say as they walk away
I can live with you shaking dust off your feet
YET, I feel my heart once more
Silently cry and say ...
Here is me,
I am becoming an expert
