Do I recall I once touched the simple things
Felt the unfettered wonder of Olly Olly fun
When tremors of joy caressed my spirit alive
When I played only to give life a good run
Was there really a time I once relived games
Before rigged rules played me endlessly
When naked truth could have set me free
Like Olly Olly oxen free
Destiny suggests life is an eighty-year count
Safely hidden, I risked calamity to peek
Watching empty eyes squint upon the tree of life
Unseen fate often cheats us at hide-and-seek
Ready, set, go; anyone not ready, holler 'No'
You all know there's nowhere to run
So come out, come out, wherever you are
As ready or not, reliving can come undone
Do you call up once upon a time capers
Before forged rules gamed you endlessly
When simple things could have set you free
Like Olly Olly oxen free
Can we retrace when we once valued the simple things
Felt the unfettered wonder of Olly Olly fun
When tremors of joy caressed our spirits alive
When we played only to give life a good run
Come let's revive that simple call and recall
How easy it once was to be unfettered
Well before the fixed game ends, shout out with me
Olly Olly
Olly Olly
