TITLE: Nothing of use anymore
WRITTEN BY: [Kylue Yallop]
You've taught me that love being one way is ok
That no manner of time will get in the way
Of finding the things that make you happy today
As I should forgive the bad things done anyway
You've taught me that words can mean many things
That enduring what hurts and pierces and stings
Shows of my gratitude to wear diamond rings
And includes my endurance of all awful things
You teach me that silence is how I should be
To discard my dreams and give my all for free
You teach me to hate all that I see
And morph into what others want me to be
You teach me to wither and make myself small
To look at my body with hate and appall
To know that without you I surely will fall
And lose all I have and have nothing at all
You've taught me that some people don't really know love
Or that friendship and honesty should be held high above
The tales of untruth that hide a secret club
Of plans to leave and find a better love
You teach me that silence is how I should be
To discard my dreams and give my all for free
You teach me to hate all that I see
And morph into what others want me to be
You teach me its time to claim something more
To find inner strength to open the door
And never look back on the lessons I wore
That weighed me down and made my love a chore
You teach me nothing of use anymore
You teach me nothing of use anymore
A note from the lyricist
Inspired by personal experience of trust being lost in the person you held closest to your soul. Being lost in them so much but they didn't really love you. Realizing that your love was all one way and although frightening a change has to be made.
