A box of Tacky thumb tacks
Was Sally donated yesterday
This morning
I heard Bob Barker say
Hopeful, come on down
To the Price Is Wrong
Buy your second, third, fourth
Tacky hand-me-down
Look for the best deal in the store
If you want to be hers
Don’t be flashy, gaudy,
Be her Tacky romantack
At the overpriced second-hand
I was fine-tuning all the castoffs
Hoping none of this was infected
Picked up a lonely box of thumb tacks
I perused all the wares and saw
The upside-down cashier’s lips
I hoped today I could pin that up
With this box of lockjaw
Look for the best deal in the store
If you want to be hers
Don’t be flashy, gaudy,
Be her Tacky romantack
Hi... I am ready to cash out
May I ask you a question
Is this lonely box of thumb tacks
You know too Tacky? Tacky?
She handles cash, but nothing else registers
See you tomorrow, Sally
Ann, you know me
I may be deaf, but not dumb
What’s your read on Tack Head?
Always asking if this is TAGGY?
Tacky, Tacky, Sally
--- Read the signs, not his lips
Tack Head is having a love heart attack
Tacky, Tacky but so damn romantack
There in the exit door window
Between the Tacky finger tracks
I pause to look back again
Hey-- did Sally just grin
A box of Tacky thumb tacks
Was Sally donated yesterday
This morning
I heard Bob Barker say
Hopeful, come on down
To the Price Is Wrong
Buy your fifth, sixth, seventh
Tacky hand-me-down
Sally is the best deal in the store
If you want to be hers
Don’t be flashy, gaudy,
Be her Tacky romantack
Be her Tacky romantack
