Can you tell me what’s happening with the world today
It’s like people took their manners and just threw them away
They’ll let the door swing, so it hits you in the face
They’ll cut you right off
and steal your parking space.
I’m going out, the out door
but you’re trying to enter
Pay no attention to the sign
posted right there in the center.
The express lane just opened
All I got is a dozen wings
But you jump ahead with a cart so full
you can hardly push the thing.
Why do they even let some people
fly the friendly skies?
Entitled fools with too much luggage
In their Men’s wear-house suits and ties.
They’ll sit through an hour layover
Make a boarding dash to the Taco Bell
Happily chomping their burrito supreme
Giving us all the sounds and smells.
Would you tell me what’s happening with the world today
It’s like people took their manners and just threw them away
They’ll let the door swing, so it hits you in the face
They’ll cut you right off
and steal your parking space.
You’re going slow in the fast lane
And fast in the slow
You got to know you’re not the only one
Who’s got someplace to go.
The reflection in your rearview mirror
Shows you talking on the phone
This is where the seeds of road rage
Are so often sewn.
Can you tell me what’s happening with the world today
It’s like people took their manners and just tossed them away
They’ll let the door swing, so it hits you in the face
Then they cut you right off
and steal your parking space.
Yeah, they’ll cut you right off,
and steal your parking space.
(all the while looking you right in the face.
People…….yeah, they’re the worst)
EndA note from the lyricist
Where have all the manners gone?
